Why rabbits are a problem on Southern Tablelands and South Coast properties
Rabbits breed rapidly, degrade pasture, cause erosion and compete with livestock for feed. Burrowing damages fences, sheds, machinery and water infrastructure. Left alone, a warren becomes a factory.
After wet seasons we see numbers climb right across our patch: on Braidwood grazing country, in Bungendore and Wamboin horse paddocks, and on Yass and Murrumbateman pasture.
Rabbits also ignore boundaries. They move freely between properties, so what your neighbours do matters almost as much as what happens on your own place.
Why we target breeding females
Most rabbit control is measured by how many rabbits were removed on the night. We look at it differently. A rabbit population is driven by its breeding females (the does), so every doe removed is a breeding cycle stopped, not just one fewer rabbit in the paddock.
Our operators prioritise breeding females. Thermal optics and night vision let us watch a warren before we act and take the right animal, not the first one that moves. The result is an immediate impact on the breeding cycle and fewer young rabbits coming through afterwards. Follow-up visits keep the pressure on the does that remain.
How we control rabbits
Drone scouting and warren mapping
Before we set foot on your property, we put a drone in the air. It checks paddocks, gullies, dams and fence lines for rabbit activity, scratchings, and the tracks and pads they use. That shows us where warrens and harbour are concentrated. If you'd like one, we'll give you a map of the warren locations from the drone survey.
Trail cameras on the warrens
Still or CCTV cameras show us when rabbits feed, roughly how many there are and which warrens are most active.
Silent night work with suppressed air rifles
We use air rifles fitted with night vision and silencers, backed by thermal optics. Air rifles suit the sensitive spots where rabbits love to settle: around sheds, stockyards and infrastructure, and on small acreage close to neighbours.

Poison-free, and no warren ripping
We don't use 1080 or any other poison baits (why we don't use poison), so working dogs, pets and native animals aren't put at risk. We also don't rip or destroy warrens. Some landholders choose to arrange warren ripping separately with an earthmoving contractor, and our warren map can help whoever does that work find the active warrens.

Alongside your written report, we can provide an Impact Statement for any job. It uses breeding data from NSW DPI and CSIRO to estimate how many feral rabbits will be prevented from being born over the next 18 months as a result of the work on your property. It shows the real value of control: not just what was removed on the night, but the generations that won't follow.
Because we target breeding females, every doe removed counts towards that figure.
Your responsibilities as a NSW landholder
Under the NSW Biosecurity Act 2015, everyone has a General Biosecurity Duty. If you own, occupy or manage land and you know, or ought reasonably to know, about a biosecurity risk, you must prevent, eliminate or minimise it so far as is reasonably practicable. The NSW Government names wild rabbits among the pest animals this duty covers. Your Local Land Services (LLS) biosecurity officer can give free advice on 1300 795 299.

What affects the cost of rabbit control
Every job is quoted individually after a free assessment. The main things that affect the price are:
- Property size and terrain: open pasture is quicker to work than timber, gullies, blackberries or rocky harbour.
- How established the rabbits are: a few scattered rabbits versus many active warrens.
- Number of nights and follow-up visits: a one-off knockdown versus an ongoing program.

Do I have to control rabbits on my property in NSW?
